Teaching Teachers and Teaching Students: Interactive Strategies Across Secondary Content Areas
Materials listed below are from Sara Spachman's part of the workshop: "Climbing into the Character's Head: Giving Students a Leg Up with Scaffolding" |
(Materials available for download as Word documents only.) |
ACTIVITY SEQUENCE A: |
ACTIVITY SEQUENCE B: |
"Born of Man and Woman" |
"Journal of a Wife Beater" |
Artifacts from the narrator's journal (not available on-line) (I created these artifacts myself from pages ripped from magazines which might have been available to the narrator as "journal paper" in his/her/its cellar. A student of mine copied out the first few paragraphs of "Born of Man and Woman" onto these papers, then I crumpled them, spilled water on them, and rubbed dirt into them.) |
|
"Mystery Text" (I merely excerpted the first journal entry from the story "Journal of a Wife Beater" to use as the mystery text.) |
|
Inner Voice Sheet (thanks to Cris Tovani) |
